A chronic shoplifter has been arrested after he allegedly trespassed at a downtown Iowa City thrift shop to tell the employees not to call the police the next time he trespasses and/or shoplifts.
Iowa City Police say 31-year-old transient Gregory Echols entered Ragstock on East Washington Street just before 4:00 on the afternoon of February 29th. He reportedly told the employees they need to stop notifying law enforcement when he trespasses and shoplifts. Echols was given a criminal trespass warning for the property on July 8th.
Echols is charged with Trespassing. He has a recent history of theft charges and convictions.
