An Iowa City woman who allegedly went to the Iowa City Police Department while under the influence was charged with OWI after officers observed her driving off.

According to the arrest report, 31-year-old Cindy Millan of the Hilltop Mobile Home Park drove to the station just before 2:20 am Friday to report an unrelated incident. She allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, impaired balance, and smelled of ingested alcohol.  She then drove away from the station in a 2019 GMC Terrain and was stopped on the 200 block of East Benton Street.

Millan reportedly admitted to drinking earlier in the night, and agreed to testing. After failing field tests, she provided a PBT showing her BAC at .175 percent; a subsequent Datamaster test showed it at .154 percent.

Millan was charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
