Multiple agencies battled a vegetation fire at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area Tuesday afternoon.
Fire crews from Iowa City, Hills and North Liberty all converged on the park just before 4:15. The park is across McCollister Boulevard from the city of Iowa City’s gas pump station, causing enhanced concern.
There were no reports of any injuries or serious damage.
The grass fire was just one of many reported around Eastern Iowa in recent days. Firefighters remind residents to be cautious about vegetation fires due to the extremely dry conditions, and to avoid outdoor burning until those conditions improve.
