An Iowa City woman was arrested Tuesday night after an altercation with her live-in ex girlfriend.
Police say 27-year-old Tazane Dixon and the woman split up from a three month relationship a few days ago, but still reside together in a Finkbine Lane apartment. At around 11:30pm, the two got into an argument about an online video. Dixon reportedly got very close to the woman’s face while yelling at her. When she pushed Dixon away to make some space between them, Dixon allegedly grabbed her face with both hands and dug her fingernails into her cheeks, leaving several small lacerations with fresh blood.
The woman then reportedly pushed Dixon away, and she retaliated by punching her in the mouth. The woman suffered a bloody lip and was able to separate herself from Dixon so she could call authorities.
Dixon was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, a serious misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to one year if convicted.
