If you drive on eastbound Interstate 80 in Coralville you need to be aware of a construction project for the new I-80 and 1st Avenue interchange that may slow down your trip.
Construction crews need to close the eastbound I-80 exit ramp at the 1st Avenue interchange (exit 242) as they prepare to open the new ramp. The closure is set to take place overnight Wednesday starting at 8 p.m. The ramp will reopen Thursday morning by 5, weather permitting.
Eastbound travelers planning to head into Coralville via 1st Avenue will instead follow a marked detour to the eastbound I-80 off-ramp to Dubuque Street (Exit 244) in Iowa City and then use westbound I-80 to reach 1st Avenue.
