An Iowa City man faces credit card fraud and driving while barred charges after separate incidents last year.

22-year old Janard Goins allegedly used a stolen credit card at All About Phones on South Clinton Street the afternoon of October 12th, purchasing over $80 in merchandise.

On November 22nd, Goins was reportedly observed by officers driving a 2004 Pontiac, despite being barred and revoked because he is a habitual offender.

Warrants were issued in both incidents.

Then on December 10th, Goins was accused of breaking into another person’s residence and assaulting them in a dispute over money.  He allegedly threatened the person by initially texting him multiple times, then entered the victim’s residence without permission. A verbal confrontation reportedly turned physical, with the victim sustaining injuries. Goins also allegedly broke the victim’s eyeglasses and caused property damage.  He was taken into custody the following night and charged with 1st degree Burglary.

Goins entered a not guilty plea on the burglary charge December 21st; he has a case management conference scheduled for February 2nd and trial set for April 9th.

On the other charges, Goins is awaiting court dates.
