Iowa City man/UI graduate appointed district judge

An Iowa City man has been appointed as a district judge.

Gov. Kim Reynolds announced on Friday her appointment of Michael Harris as a district judge in Judicial District 6.

Harris, of Iowa City, is an Assistant Linn County Attorney. He received his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Iowa.

Harris fills a vacancy created following the retirement of the Hon. Fae Hoover. Judicial District 6 includes Johnson, Linn, Benton, Iowa, Jones, and Tama counties.
