A transient is accused of head-butting another diner at a free Iowa City community breakfast, then declaring that it was “awesome”.
Iowa City Police were called to the Agapé Café at Old Brick on East Market Street just after 9:00 Wednesday morning. Witnesses say 31-year-old Daniel Wolfe and another diner were involved in a verbal altercation when Wolfe head-butted the other man in the face, giving him a bloody nose. Wolfe then reportedly told bystanders, “It was awesome.”
Wolfe fled the scene when police were called. He was located a short time later and arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
