Cedar Rapids Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have identified 21-year-old Andrew Derr of the Hawks Ridge Apartments as the suspect in a January 3rd armed robbery at Cedar Rapids Bank & Trust in NE Cedar Rapids. If you have information that leads to Derr’s arrest, you may be eligible for a reward.

Derr has had other recent run-ins with local law enforcement. He was arrested last month after reportedly calling 9-1-1 multiple times and asking the dispatcher out on a date. He was charged with Obstruction of Emergency Communications, a simple misdemeanor.

A few days earlier, Derr reportedly fell down in front of the Airliner, then ran down the middle of Clinton Street, stopped traffic, and laid himself on the hood of a car.  When he saw University of Iowa Police arriving, he allegedly lunged at an officer with both hands. He was taken to the ground, with the officer suffering injuries to a hand and a knee.

For that incident, Derr was charged with Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations Causing Bodily Injury and Public Intoxication.
