Caucus night wasn’t even over before the Republican presidential field lost another candidate.
Vivek Ramaswamy finished a distant fourth in Monday night’s Iowa caucuses with 7.7%. As the results poured in, he announced he was suspending his campaign.
Former President Donald Trump nearly swept the night, winning 98 of the state’s 99 counties.
Johnson County kept Monday night from being a sweep for the embattled Trump, who faces numerous criminal and civil cases while he continues his campaign for the White House.
Steve Kornacki from NBC reports former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley won Johnson County by just one vote, 1,271 to 1,270.
CNN reports Trump won Iowa with 51% of the vote. Florida governor Ron DeSantis finished second with 21.2%, with Haley coming in third at 19.1%.
The candidates move on to New Hampshire’s primary next Tuesday.
