The Iowa football team’s defense keeps getting good news for next season.
Senior defensive back Quinn Schulte and linebacker Nick Jackson announced on social media Monday that they plan to return to the Hawkeyes instead of opting for the NFL draft. An Instagram post on Schulte’s account shows Schulte and Jackson celebrating after the Hawkeyes clinched the Big Ten West last fall and simply reads “We ain’t goin’ nowhere.”
Last month the NCAA granted Jackson an extra year of eligibility.
Schulte and Jackson join fifth-year senior defensive back Sebastian Castro, senior linebacker Jay Higgins and junior cornerback Jermari Harris as defensive players who have announced they will return to Iowa for one more season. All-America junior cornerback Cooper DeJean announced last week that he would enter the 2024 NFL draft.
