| The City is seeking an artist to design, create, and install a public art installation in Highland Park that captures the spirit of the Lucas Farms neighborhood, while also accurately and artistically commemorating local Indigenous history.
The Iowa City Public Art Advisory Committee and Lucas Farms Neighborhood Association are seeking artists to submit their qualifications for the project by Thursday, Jan. 11, 2024. All artists are encouraged to apply and preference will be given to eligible Indigenous artists. Those interested can read the Request for Qualifications and submit an application form online. Artists will be responsible for presenting concepts, soliciting stakeholder input, refining a final design, and fabricating and installing the artwork. The installation will be subject to approval by the Iowa City Public Art Advisory Committee. |
