A former candidate for Iowa City City Council is now running for the Johnson County Board of Supervisors.

Mandi Remington announced her candidacy in a Wednesday email. Remington notes she is a single parent and domestic violence survivor who, in her 2023 city council campaign, advocated for critical issues such as improved access to affordable housing, food security, and childcare.

Remington said in her statement, “The people of Johnson County deserve leaders who share their values and concerns and will work full time to find and implement solutions. As a single parent I know what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet and will bring that first-hand experience to the table.”
