Former Iowa congressman Steve King has announced his endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy for President.

Ramaswamy’s campaign issued a statement Tuesday, saying although most people are  sheep when it comes to endorsements, King stands out, and called him “America First before it was cool.” Ramaswamy added, “The likes of Steve King and Pat Buchanan were the OGs. He doesn’t back down from a fight, and he certainly doesn’t bow to the establishment.”

The Des Moines Register reports that King has joined Ramaswamy on campaign stops after finding common ground on opposition of CO2 pipelines, the pardoning of January 6th protesters, ending birthright citizenship for children of illegal immigrants, and  opposing what King called “the climate change cult.”

NBC and the Register will moderate “Closing Arguments: Iowa,” a series of in-depth interviews with the three presidential candidates jockeying for position behind front-runner Donald Trump.

The interviews will publish online at DesMoinesRegister.com and air across NBC News beginning with “Meet the Press NOW” with Ramaswamy on NBC News NOW at 3 p.m. today. An interview with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will air Thursday, followed by former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley on Friday.
