A Coralville woman was charged with her 3rd OWI after allegedly running a stop sign Tuesday morning.

Police say 53-year old Tammy Freidhof of Sweeting Lane committed the infraction at the intersection of Front and Zeller Streets in North Liberty. When stopped, she allegedly had pin-point pupils, bloodshot watery eyes and looked disheveled.  Freidhof showed several signs of impairment during field testing, although a PBT showed she was not under the effects of alcohol.

A Drug Recognition Expert from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department ran her through additional testing and reportedly determined Friedhof to be under the influence of a Central Nervous System Stimulant and unsafe to drive a motor vehicle.

Due to previous OWI convictions in 2013 and 2015, she was charged with OWI third offense, a Class D Felony.  If convicted, Friedhof could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
