The University of Iowa is partnering with an international organization focused on supporting talented teens.

Iowa Capitol Dispatch reports that Rise identifies 15- to 17-year-olds who show promise in cultivating ideas and solutions that could change the world and works to support them in different ways. The program has over 60 global partners, and the U of I will be the first public university in North America to partner with Rise.

According to a news release, up to 100 yearly Rise Global Winners receive scholarships, chances to apply for funding to research ideas and pitches, networking opportunities, access to technology and an invitation to a summit with other Rise participants.

UI Executive Vice President and Provost Kevin Kregel said the partnership will help raise the bar of human knowledge.
