Refusing to give police his ID and subsequently fighting with them has led to the arrest of an Iowa City man.
31-year-old Olivier Baliki was operating a 2010 Honda near the intersection of Southgate Avenue and Gilbert Street at approximately 8:20pm Saturday and reportedly had a non-working driver’s side headlight and non-working tail lights. When stopped, Baliki refused to provide his name or an ID.
He was ordered out of the vehicle, but allegedly refused to exit the Honda. After fighting with officers, Baliki was taken into custody. He was charged with Interference With Official Acts and Harassment of a Public official. If convicted on both counts, Baliki could be sentenced to up to 60 days in jail.
