Cedar Rapids Police arrest suspect in string of town power cord thefts

Cedar Rapids Police have made an arrest regarding a rash of thefts of power cords used for holiday displays.

According to a release from the city, the thefts occurred in the past week. Power cords and related items were reportedly taken from holiday displays in Green Square and the NewBo areas.  Video evidence identified the suspect as 48-year-old Scott Clark of Cedar Rapids.

Clark was arrested Wednesday and  booked at the Linn County Correctional Center.  He faces three counts of 5th degree theft, Criminal mischief, and Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs.  If convicted on all charges, Clark could be sentenced to up to 16 months in jail.
