North Liberty convenience store employee accused of stealing over $700 from the business

A North Liberty convenience store employee faces charges that he stole hundreds of dollars from the business.

North Liberty Police say 37-year-old Curtis Hingtgen of Fairfax had been an employee at the Casey’s on Kansas Avenue. Starting on October 5th, he allegedly began fraudulently voiding cash sales and using the money to purchase gift cards, lottery tickets and a pre-paid card for himself. The reported incidents spanned multiple shifts and totaled $736.39.

Hingtgen is charged with 4th Degree Theft. If convicted, he faces a maximum of one year in jail.
