Iowa quarterback Cade McNamara missed most of the 2023 football season with a knee injury, but the redshirt senior kept busy during his down time by helping UScellular distribute $8,000 in sporting goods to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor.

The donation includes footballs, basketballs, portable basketball hoops, dodgeball sets, kickballs, soccer balls, wiffleball sets, flag football sets, billiards pool sets, swimming goggles, pop-a-shots, ping pong tables and fishing starter kits. The items will go to programs for school age children in the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids areas.

As part of the promotion. McNamara met with youth involved with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor and answered their questions on a number of subjects.

This donation is among 40 “Gift of Connection” nonprofit donations to organizations across the country in honor of UScellular’s 40th anniversary.

McNamara has already announced once he gets healthy, he plans to return to the Hawkeyes next season.
