Iowa City woman arrested after allegedly running up charges on stolen credit card

An Iowa City woman was taken into custody after she allegedly ran up hundreds of dollars in charges on a stolen credit card.

Police say 37-year-old Bridget Dual of Sycamore Street was seen on closed circuit TV footage from the Coralville Walmart and the nearby Casey’s the morning of November 12th. According to the criminal complaint, Dual purchased gift cards and other items. She allegedly used the victim’s credit card two times at Walmart for a total of nearly $480, then purchased gift cards and two energy drinks at Casey’s for a total of over $400.  The combined exact total of charges came to $884.53.

A warrant for Dual’s arrest was issued on November 21st.  She was taken into custody Monday afternoon and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, an aggravated misdemeanor punishable by a jail term of up to two years if convicted.
