An Iowa City man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly causing a disturbance at Mercy Hospital.
According to the police report, area transient 43-year-old Brett Brown was transported to the ER at approximately 9:25 pm Monday to be evaluated due to his level of intoxication. While there, he allegedly started throwing things around the room and threw punches and kicked at the staff.
Once cleared, Brown was arrested and charged with disorderly contact and public intoxication. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to 60 days in jail.
On October 8th, Brown pleaded guilty to a 5th degree theft charge from an incident that occurred on September 29th. He was fined $125.
