An Iowa City woman was arrested after allegedly refusing to leave Shelter House after yelling profanities at staff.

Police were called to the Shelter on Southgate Avenue Wednesday night around 9:30. 50-year-old Alizabeth Brammeier reportedly yelled abusive epithets towards staff and others, and had signs of intoxication.  She allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady balance, a strong odor of ingested alcohol, and seemed to have urinated in her pants. She refused a PBT.

Brammeier was reportedly found with two clear glass pipes for smoking narcotics containing residue, and a plastic bag with suspected marijuana in her coat.  She allegedly resisted arrest and had to be helped into a squad car.

Brammeier was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Marijuana possession, Interference with Official Acts, Public Intoxication, and possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  If convicted on all counts, she could be sentenced to up to 16 months in jail.
