The Iowa City Fire Department responded to a residential fire on the city’s west side on Monday.
According to a news release from the ICFD, crews were dispatched to 3640 Donegal Court at 10:33 a.m., with first units arriving on the scene four minutes later. Responding firefighters encountered flames and smoke coming from the front door of the residence. The fire was brought under control 16 minutes after arrival.
There were no occupants home at the time of the fire and no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
