A southeast Iowa resident faces charges that she injured two women in an Iowa City bar fight in which she reportedly used a bottle as a weapon.

Iowa City Police say they were called to a fight at Pre-Game Lounge and Hookah Bar…formerly known as “H Bar”…on South Van Buren Street at 1:45 Sunday morning. The suspect, 29-year-old Janae Anderson of Burlington, entered the bar with a group of friends. Police say she became angry at another patron and struck her in the face multiple times, breaking a tooth and causing a bloody nose. Anderson allegedly then struck another woman in the face with a bottle of alcohol as the woman was trying to pull the first victim away. The second woman suffered bruising on her cheek.

Arriving officers say Anderson was still at the bar when they arrived and was pointed out by witnesses. She reportedly tried to walk away and gave no reason for the reported assaults.

Anderson is charged with two counts of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. If convicted on both charges, she faces a maximum of two  years in jail.
