A Lone Tree man was arrested this week after allegedly shoplifting over $1200 in items from a Coral Ridge sporting goods store.

Thursday morning, police were called to Scheels All Sports on reports of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, the suspect, 19-year-old Ronan Moffit, was still in the store.  He was stopped by loss prevention and reportedly cooperated with them.

The police officer was informed that Moffitt had been in the store for the past three days. He’s accused of stealing nearly $500 in merchandise on Tuesday, over $155 on Wednesday, and attempting to take nearly $580 worth of goods Thursday when he was stopped.

Moffit was taken into custody and faces two counts of 4th degree theft and one count of 5th degree theft. If convicted on all charges, he could be sentenced to over two years in jail.
