An Iowa City man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly going on a shopping spree with a stolen credit card.

Police say 23-year-old Zhamond Lawson of East Market Street used the card at over 10 Iowa City businesses between August 19th and 23rd of this year.  He allegedly ran up over $1850 in fraudulent charges on the stolen card.

Lawson reportedly admitted to police that he used the card and got rid of it when he heard they were investigating the incidents.  He allegedly didn’t know the victim nor did he receive permission to use the stolen card.

Lawson was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with Unauthorized use of  Credit Card and 2nd degree Theft. If convicted on both counts, he could be sentenced to up to ten years in prison.
