A Quad Cities man was charged with weapons violations twice in the span of 24 hours in Iowa City this weekend.

28-year-old Darrius Bourrage of Davenport was pulled over by Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies on North Dubuque Street near Waterworks Prairie Park just after 2:15 Saturday morning. Investigators say Bourrage was in possession of a Glock 9mm pistol. It was only after Bourrage was allowed to leave the scene that deputies learned he had multiple felony convictions out of Scott County and Illinois, making him ineligible to carry a firearm.

Iowa City Police encountered Bourrage walking on the 200 block of South Clinton Street at 1:30 Sunday morning. He was detained due to the pending weapons charge from the earlier traffic stop, and a search of his person turned up the loaded Glock.

Bourrage is charged with two counts of Dominion or Control of a Firearm as a Felon. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
