An Iowa City man was taken into custody this week after reportedly attempting to flee his arrest on an undisclosed parole violation.
25-year-old Salomen Allen of East Burlington Street was located on the 2500 block of Holiday Road in Coralville Monday afternoon and was being placed into custody when he reportedly attempted to flee from officers after officers got his left hand into cuffs. Allen was brought to the ground by officers, but he allegedly continued to resist arrest by refusing to place his arms behind his back.
Allen was charged with Interference with Official Acts, a simple misdemeanor.
He was also charged with OWI in August and has entered a written plea of not guilty. A case management conference is scheduled for December 18th.
