Iowa City Police arrested an armed bar patron early Sunday morning.
Just before 12:45 a.m. staff at Reunion Brewery on the Ped Mall told officers that 21-year-old Daveion Houston of Burlington was intoxicated and in possession of a firearm. Investigators say they found a pistol in Houston’s waistband. He reportedly showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking, and provided a breath alcohol sample of .183%.
Houston was arrested and charged with Carrying a Firearm While Intoxicated and Public Intoxication. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of 13 months in jail.
