An Iowa City woman was arrested Sunday on assault and criminal mischief charges after using pepper spray during an argument, and the base of a portable basketball hoop to smash a windshield.
The incidents occurred during the 2am hour. 29-year-old Mahogany White of Catskill Court allegedly took the base of a basketball hoop and used it to break the windshield of another woman’s vehicle located on Whispering Meadow Drive. She is also accused of getting into an argument with an unspecified resident at her home and pepper spraying them. The victim was coughing and sniffling when an Iowa City Police officer arrived on scene, and White allegedly admitted to pepper-spraying the victim.
White was arrested and charged with 5th degree Criminal Mischief and Domestic Abuse Assault with the use of a Weapon. If convicted on both counts, she could be sentenced to up to 25 months in jail.
