An area transient who was wanted for failing to appear at non-jury trial for 5th degree theft was found with marijuana when arrested over the weekend.

Police served the warrant on 41-year-old Abdiqani Haji Mohamud outside the Waterfront Drive HyVee at approximately 12:20am. While doing so, he pulled a revolver-style bb gun from his waistband without being asked and was immediately handcuffed.

A search incident to arrest reportedly located a suspected bag of marijuana in his pocket, along with a pipe containing meth residue in his belongings.

Haji Mohamud was taken into custody and now faces additional charges of carrying a Toy Gun, 3rd or subsequent Marijuana Possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted on the new charges, he could be sentenced to over five years in prison.
