A Dyersville man faces a handful of misdemeanor charges after allegedly urinating on a downtown Iowa City parking ramp window.

Just after Midnight Sunday, the 20-year-old was observed by a police officer urinating on the windows of the north stairwell at the Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp, across from the Iowa City Police Department.  The officer tried to stop the man, but he fled on foot, ignoring emergency lights and commands from other officers.

Police eventually apprehended the man, who allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, an unsteady gait, and the odor of ingested alcohol.  An obviously fictitious Missouri licence was found on his person, showing his name and photograph, but a false date of birth making him appear to be of legal drinking age.

After his eventual arrest, the man provided a PBT showing his BAC at .230 percent.

He was charged with Public Urination, Public Intoxication, Interference with Official Acts, and Possession of a Fictitious ID. If convicted on all counts, the Dyersville resident could be sentenced to up to 14 months in jail.
