North Liberty Police have charged a suspect in a convenience store robbery case.

Arrest records indicate 22-year-old Isaivion Labeaux of Waterloo and an accomplice parked a vehicle a few hundred feet away from the Heartland Drive Kum & Go just after 1:15 p.m. on March 29th. Labeaux then reportedly crossed a field on foot to the store. He allegedly entered the store while wearing a face mask and with his hoodie up in order to disguise his features. Labeaux then reportedly went around the front counter and forced Kum & Go staffers to open the two registers. Police say Labeaux then took the cash from inside and returned to the waiting car before fleeing the area.

The entire incident, including the vehicle parking and its license plate information, were caught on security video.

Investigators say geolocation data placed Labeaux in the area at the time of the robbery, an item recovered from the getaway vehicle tested positive for Labeaux’s DNA, and a check of Labeaux’s smart phone showed a search history with items relating to the robbery.

Labeaux is charged with 2nd Degree Robbery. If convicted, he faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
