The top level of NASCAR is finally coming to the Iowa Speedway.
For the first time in the track’s 17-year history, Newton will host a NASCAR Cup Series race next year. That’s according to a report in The Athletic. An official announcement is scheduled for Tuesday.
The Iowa race will replace the annual Cup race in Fontana, CA, which NASCAR dropped from its schedule. The Iowa Speedway has hosted NASCAR Truck and Xfinity races and IndyCar races in the past, but never a Cup race.
