A fourth person has been charged in connection with a beating outside a downtown Iowa City convenience store that left another woman seriously injured.

27-year-old Jovan Trice of East Jefferson Street is charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury and Participating in a Riot. 35-year-old Tasheanna McConnell of Holiday Road in Coralville, 28-year-old Richae Epps of Taylor Drive and 31-year-old Tajeria Beacham of Cross Park Avenue were charged with the same offenses earlier.

Iowa City Police say the four suspects were among a group of people who engaged in a large fight in the parking lot of the East Burlington Street Kum & Go just after 2:30am on September 10th. Security video reportedly shows Trice actively involved in the altercation, pushing several people. He then is seen punching a woman in the face, knocking her into the street. He also punched another woman in the parking lot while he was standing behind her. That woman was knocked to the pavement, where the other suspects allegedly stomped on her while she was lying defenseless.

The woman suffered a concussion and multiple cuts from the altercation.

If convicted on both charges, Trice and the three women faces a maximum of ten years in prison.

Tasheanna McConnell faces added charges of Driving While Barred and Driving While Denied or Revoked after the video shows her driving a 2007 Kia Sorrento despite having a revoked and barred license due to a drunk driving conviction and habitual offenses.
