A third woman has been charged in connection with a beating outside a downtown Iowa City convenience store that left another woman seriously injured.

35-year-old Tasheanna McConnell of Holiday Road in Coralville is charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury and Participating in a Riot. 28-year-old Richae Epps of Taylor Drive and 31-year-old Tajeria Beacham of Cross Park Avenue were charged with the same offenses earlier this week.

Iowa City Police say McConnell, Epps and Beacham were among a group of people who engaged in a large fight in the parking lot of the East Burlington Street Kum & Go just after 2:30am on September 10th. Security video reportedly shows the three suspects and a fourth woman stomping on a woman who was defenseless on the ground. Police say McConnell can be seen punching the woman while she was defenseless on her knees. McConnell is briefly dragged away from the confrontation before allegedly reengaging by grabbing the woman’s hair and punching her several more times.

Beacham and Epps can reportedly be seen stomping on the woman as well.

The alleged victim suffered a concussion and multiple cuts as a result of the attack.

If convicted on both charges, each woman faces a maximum of ten years in prison.

McConnell faces added charges of Driving While Barred and Driving While Denied or Revoked after the video shows her driving a 2007 Kia Sorrento despite having a revoked and barred license due to a drunk driving conviction and habitual offenses.
