A second woman has been charged in connection with a beating outside a downtown Iowa City convenience store that left another woman seriously injured.

28-year-old Richae Epps of Taylor Drive is charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury and Participating in a Riot. 31-year-old Tajeria Beacham of Cross Park Avenue was charged with the same offenses earlier this week.

Iowa City Police say Epps and Beacham were among a group of people who engaged in a large fight in the parking lot of the East Burlington Street Kum & Go just after 2:30am on September 10th. Security video reportedly shows Epps, Beacham and two other women stomping on a woman who was defenseless on the ground. Police say Beacham is specifically seen stomping on the woman’s head before taunting the other woman and the woman’s friends. Epps can reportedly be seen stomping on the woman as well.

The alleged victim suffered a concussion and multiple cuts as a result of the attack.

If convicted on both charges, each woman faces a maximum of ten years in prison.
