An Iowa City man was arrested this week after allegedly assaulting the mother of their shared child.

Officers were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to the North Dodge Street address of 29-year-old Justin Webb on reports of a man pushing a woman down multiple times. Upon arrival, they came upon the two involved in an altercation.

The woman told police that she tried to leave the area, but Webb pushed her down while she was holding their child.  The incident left an abrasion to the woman’s right arm and redness to her left forearm from the fall.

Both parties reside together and are the parents of the child.

Webb was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault causing Injury and Child Endangerment. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to three years in jail. Webb was released on his own recognizance Thursday morning after an initial court appearance.  A no-contact order was issued by judge Brandon Schrock.
