An area transient who had been trespassed from an Iowa City apartment complex multiple times was arrested on an assault warrant stemming from an August 31st incident.

51-year-old Robert Truelsen was being escorted from the Town and Campus Apartments at approximately 9:15am that day when there was an alleged confrontation near the street about him being banned from the property.  According to a member of the management staff, Truelson produced a knife and threatened them with it.

The staffer told officers that Truelson has been trespassed from the property multiple times, but keeps coming back, and was reportedly very upset by the incident.

A warrant was requested for Truelson’s arrest on September 18th; he was booked at the Johnson County Jail just before 1am Sunday. He’s been charged with assault and trespass, and could serve up to 30 days in jail if convicted.
