A Coralville man was arrested after he allegedly went to an Iowa City residence Friday morning for the purpose of having sex with a teenage girl.
Police say that during this month, 57-year-old Jose Benito Rodriguez of Boston Way was in communication with a person he believed to be a fifteen year old female. He allegedly offered the girl cash for sexual favors. Rodriguez reportedly agreed to pay the girl $100, sent her a photo of his erect genitals, and described what he would do sexually to her.
Rodriguez allegedly agreed to meet the girl at a pre-arranged location for sex acts and arrived with cash and a condom.
He was taken into custody and faces charges of Pandering of a Minor for Prostitution and Enticing a Minor for Sexual Purposes. If convicted on both counts, Rodriguez could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
