A conservative student group at the University of Iowa is welcoming a self-described “detransitioner” to speak on campus.
19-year-old anti-trans activist Chloe Cole tours the country speaking out against what she calls “gender ideology”, in particular targeting laws that allow gender-affirming care for those under the age of 18. The UI chapter of Young Americans for Freedom says its bringing Cole to speak at the Iowa Memorial Union. The appearance is set for 7 p.m. on Monday, October 16th in the IMU’s Black Box Theatre.
UI Young Americans for Freedom hosted a speech from conservative commentator Matt Walsh in April. That appearance was met with protests and multiple arrests.
