A Dublin, Ohio man who was in the Johnson County Jail on a Public Intoxication charge faces a more serious charge after vandalizing his cell door.
Deputies say 37-year-old Nicholas Fernandez intentionally removed a cover from one of the fire alarm systems inside his holding cell and used the removed cover to strike the window of the cell door.
The window broke and caused $1000 in damage to the door.
Fernandez originally could have been sentenced to up to 30 days for the intoxication charge; with the 3rd degree Criminal Mischief charge filed against him, he now could be sentenced to up to 25 months if convicted.
