An Iowa City man allegedly assaulted a 76-year-old man at his residence last week.

According to the arrest report, the incident involved 45-year-old Todd White of Erobi Lane. He went to the victim’s 3rd Avenue home at around 4:50pm Friday and reportedly kicked the entry door multiple times to gain entry.  His actions broke the trim to the door frame before the man unlocked the door to prevent further damage.  According to witnesses, White pushed a woman before engaging in a fight with the man and allegedly caused injuries to his hand and elbow.

White reportedly fled the scene before police arrived, and was later identified by his family members and a female acquaintance who confirmed she dropped White off at the man’s residence just moments before the assault.

White was arrested and charged 2nd degree Burglary, simple Assault, and Assault causing Bodily Injury. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to over 11 years in prison on all counts.
