An Iowa City area transient is accused of stalking the subject of a no contact order, allegedly attempting contact three times in one 12-hour period.

The first violation was at the woman’s place of work in downtown Iowa City just after midnight Sunday.  34-year-old Terry Pearson allegedly told her, “You have 45 days to decide,” and compared himself to an owl, saying he would watch her from the roof.  Those comments, along with repeated violations, frightened the protected party.

Later that morning, Pearson went to the woman’s residence, where he banged on her door until the woman’s daughter answered. She told Pearson he needed to leave or she would call police.

He returned again during the noon hour. A third party contacted authorities, reporting that Pearson was in the driveway of the residence crying. The daughter reported that Pearson had just been back to the door of the apartment, banging on the door and crying.

Pearson was taken into custody and charged with stalking and three violations of the no –contact order. Stalking is a Class C Felony punishable by a prison term of up to ten years if convicted.
