Iowa City Police say they found an intoxicated Coralville woman with a stolen car early Sunday morning after she claimed it was hers.

According to arrest records, a stolen vehicle was tracked via GPS to RISE at Riverfront Crossings on South Linn Street just after 3:30am. Police say 22-year-old Brenna Jameson of 3rd Avenue was the only person home at the time, and one of her shoes was found inside the rear of the stolen car. Jameson was reportedly in bed, showed signs of intoxication, and claimed to have not consumed any alcohol once she returned home from drinking at several bars.

Police allege that Jameson repeatedly claimed the car was hers, despite being told otherwise by investigators. She also allegedly provided multiple explanations for how she got home. Police say none of them were accurate. Jameson also reportedly claimed she arrived home by herself.

Jameson was arrested and charged with Operating While intoxicated.
