Iowa City woman accused of stealing credit cards and racking up charges

An Iowa City woman was arrested late Thursday on warrants stemming from an alleged credit card theft.

According to police, 46-year-old Ann Marie Trotter of Triple Crown Lane stole a credit card from two residents at Systems Unlimited and used the cards at several locations. The dates of card use were July 8th through the 11th, and again on the 13th.

In total, Trotter reportedly ran up over $500 in charges.

A warrant for her arrest was issued on August 23rd. She was booked at the Johnson County Jail just before midnight Thursday and was charged with 4th degree Theft and two counts of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. If convicted on the charges, Trotter could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.
