University of Iowa Police are investigating a pair of reported sexual assaults.

UI officials say the first report was of a sexual assault that occurred between 11:00 and midnight last Thursday night at a fraternity. The assault was reportedly perpetrated by an acquaintance. The UI Police online crime log shows the location of the reported incident as the Delta Sigma Phi house on Ridgeland Avenue.

The second incident was a reported forced fondling, a form of sexual assault, that occurred near the top floor of the North Campus parking ramp on Saturday night just after 10:00. According to the report, a man split from the group with which he was walking, grabbed the person, and touched their crotch area. The reporting party yelled loudly and was able to get away.

The suspect in the second incident is described as a 6’1″ or 6’2″ white male with brown hair and wearing a bar crawl t-shirt.

If you have any additional information about either incident, contact UI Police at (319)-335-5022 or submit a crime tip via text message using the Rave Guardian app.

The Iowa City Police Daily Activity log shows officers were requested to the Delta Sig house just before 8:30 Monday night after a social media post began circulating encouraging people to protest outside the house, including threats of people bringing bricks and lighting the house on fire. University of Iowa Police used a drone and officers to patrol the area but saw no signs of congregation. The report indicates police patrol of the house will be stepped up over the next few days as a precaution.
