A Coralville woman was arrested for OWI after allegedly driving on railroad tracks.

Police say 32-year-old Hillary Chappo of Farrel Drive was called in as a reckless driver Thursday at approximately 9:25 pm because she allegedly turned off Wright Street in Iowa City and drove down a set of train tracks.  An officer located Chappo’s Mazda with her nearby.

Chappo allegedly had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, impaired balance, and the odor of ingested alcohol.  She also reportedly admitted to drinking.  After showing measurable impairment on field tests, Chappo failed a PBT. A Datamaster reading of her BAC was measured at .149 percent.

Chappo was charged with OWI first offense, a serious misdemeanor.
