The 2024 Iowa 1st Congressional District race will likely look just like the 2022 race.

Democrat Christina Bohannan…who ran unsuccessfully against Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks that year…has announced plans to run for the seat again next year. Miller-Meeks won the 2022 election by about 20,000 votes. She earned the seat in 2020 by defeating Rita Hart by only six votes after numerous recounts and challenges.

Bohannan is a University of Iowa professor and former Iowa lawmaker. So far, no other Democrats have announced plans to run in the 1st District race.
